Hello everyone, welcome to our first discussion of a “foreign language” film — we’re all from the United States here. Courtney, Erica and I discuss the Senegalese/French film Black Girl. It’s a brutally stark but beautiful film and I think it made a great discussion. (Also, I’d love to see it adapted as an opera).

THERE WILL BE SPOILERS!!!

Content Warning: Black Girl is not rated, but addresses issues like racism and suicide.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
